清末民初，時局混亂，山西太谷鏢局總鏢頭戴老爺子憑藉一身形意拳打下致遠鏢局的金字招牌。入室大弟子劉安順辦事沉穩為人仗義，深得戴老賞識，不僅將總鏢頭位子傳給他，更令膝下愛女戴戎與他締結婚約。不想劉安順因恪守規矩逼死了走鏢失利的鏢師馬奎，又因土匪山貓勾結內奸致使走鏢失利。
